We are in search of the very best full time nanny for a bi coastal family located in a coastal town in MA. This family lives on an active, bio-dynamic farm for the majority of the year, and relocates to Los Angeles, CA in the winters. (Not during the pandemic, however.) They value fun, travel, laughter, culture, mischief, adventure, creativity, academics, sports, a healthy and VERY active lifestyle, and a sense of humor in their home. The family has a team-oriented approach and mom/dad are eager to divide and conquer the day with a collaborative, compassionate and joyful nanny. (Both parents are always nearby.) They are an incredibly tight-knit, down-to-earth, hard-working family who are looking for one truly lovely, nanny to help them raise, love and nurture their two children under the age of 4, and to be apart of their adventures and the beautiful world they've created. Candidates with a background in child development or education is a plus, in case the children are not able to attend school due to the pandemic. Parents encourage creative, play-lead learning. They would love someone capable of taking advantage of all the resources available to them, someone very PLAYFUL themselves and someone who wakes up and thinks, What fun amazing things can we create, build and explore today! Their ideal person is responsible, reliable and extremely professional.
Mom/Dad are hands on and truly looking for TEAMMATES to share responsibilities with -- they have an 'ALL HANDS ON DECK' philosophy and works hard to raise good humans. They deeply values their relationships with their nanny, treat them like family, and are looking for a person who genuinely enjoys working as a team, someone who thrives working in a buddy system. This also means you have a no task is too big or too small mentality and open to helping pitch in with whatever is needed to get done (cooking, light cleaning, laundry, organizing, playing, etc). Adventurous sprite a must and travel a must. The parents believe strongly in providing the nanny with a situation wherein they feel extremely safe, always, comfortable and inspired.
Ideal candidates are extremely patient, flexible, kind, nurturing, open-minded, and fully invested in their job as nanny. This is truly wonderful position for the right person. someone who understands and has experience with. respectful care practices, Steiner, Reggio-Emilia and Waldorf. They will only consider people comfortable with strictly abiding by CDC guidelines. This is a full-time combine live-out/live position. 50 hours guaranteed. Schedule flexible if needed, but generally Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm with flexibility on nanny's part appreciated. Some overnights are expected. All work together on an as-needed basis.
Compensation: $25-$40 per hour DOE, additional benefits such as PTO and sick days...anything. Ability to travel with the family a must. Must have valid passport.
Responsibilities
Create a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment for the children
Interact educationally and creatively with active and curious children
Plan enriching activities beyond basic care, including local outings and adventures with an emphasis on reaching developmental and educational milestones
Provide age appropriate educational and developmentally appropriate activities and opportunities for young children and help foster childhood learning
Collaborate with mom to divide and conquer the day-to-day
Provide childcare during domestic and international travel
Prepare healthy, wholesome meals
Pitch in to various household and family assisting tasks
Qualifications
A valid driver's license and IMPECCABLE driving record
A valid passport
Great swimmer
Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
Educationally-minded, preferably with a background in early childhood education
Appreciation for alternative educational approaches including but not limited to Montessori, Waldorf, RIE, outdoor experiential education, etc.
Knowledge or excitement to improve on Spanish skills a huge plus!
Comparability around all animals
No allergies that might hinder life on a farm
True nature lover. Likes mountains, cold weather, hot weather....all of it
Flexible to travel with the family
Collaborative and reliable with excellent communication skills
A love for the outdoors and passion for healthy living and sports
Fit and active
