Full Time Nanny Needed For Five Year Old

Start Date: Mon 8/17

Compensation: $25

We are working with a wonderful family looking for a full time Monday to Friday nanny for a 5 year old in Los Angeles. The hours are 8:00am - 4:00pm until school classrooms re-open and they are comfortable sending their daughter back to school. After that, hours would be 12:30pm - 6:00pm *NOTE: These hours are a bit tentative until they know what the class schedule will be. The idea is that they would like their nanny to be at the home for the start of the “school day”; and then for a total of 8 hours. Both parents are currently working from home and most likely will be doing so until end of this year / early next year at the earliest. Dad does go into the office occasionally but only when necessary. Each parent have a separate workspace / office that are both away from the main living area. Their daughter will be enrolled in a 50/50 language immersion program and they would love someone who speaks Japanese, however it isn’t required. Someone who is comfortable teaching/tutoring background and experience would be great but not required. Someone who is able to keep on schedule with the school work and remote learning sessions, and help with homework as needed. If this is a job for you you will bring a youthful energy to your job with a caring and uplifting spirit. Someone who is calm and has an understanding approach to any situation. Has an Interest/education in healthy cooking, nutrition and fitness a bonus. Has a car and ability to drive themselves and is comfortable driving their daughter when needed. The family will provide a car seat. Able to swim well and experience working with 5 year olds. Their daughter is very vocal, outgoing and social, smiles and laughs a lot; is very expressive and goofy! She loves art, telling stories and playing pretend - has a big imagination! Likes to cook, loves books / reading, is inquisitive, very sweet, loves to cuddle and generally likes to help out. Often times needs encouragement to participate and stay focused in Zoom classes.

Other things the family is looking for:

Guide child during in-school instruction. From what they know, that will include video calls with class / teachers and independent learning. Create and maintain a daily schedule of "After school" activities - both indoor and outdoor. Ideas and Plans on age appropriate activities to keep the child engaged/active after school but also giving her a chance to relax and unwind and have fun! Actively participate in activities. Be a part of the fun and learning! Teach, encourage and practice independence and confidence through independent play; and responsibility through clean up, etc. Actively encourage and help her get excited about learning, grow as a good, kind and respectful human being and have a lot of fun! Homework help as needed. Pick-ups from school (when back to school) and able to drive her to activities if/as needed. Healthy meal preparation and clean-up. Toy / Activity Clean-up (with their daughter’s help) and general tidying up. Help with their daughter with laundry as needed through the week.
