A lovely family residing in Santa Monica is seeking a nurturing and experienced full-time nanny to care for their 17-month-old child. They expect to adjust smoothly to the arrival of their second baby, due on September 8, 2024. The family dynamic is relaxed, with a stay-at-home mom who collaborates closely and harmoniously with the nanny and a dad who works from home. Professional boundaries are valued, yet the family aims to make their nanny feel like an integral part of their household.

Start Date: May 1, 2024
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Number of children: One Toddler and Infant are on the way in September.
Responsibilities:
Providing attentive and compassionate care for the children's safety and well-being as the top priority
Dive into imaginative play, turning ordinary days into extraordinary adventures.
Engaging in age-appropriate activities and play to promote developmental milestones
Collaborating with the stay-at-home mom to ensure consistent care and routines
Assisting with light household duties related to childcare, such as children's meal preparation and tidying up play areas
Creating a stimulating and nurturing environment for both toddlers and infants
Spark curiosity and creativity through fun-filled activities and games
Following established routines for feeding, napping, and playtime
Changing diapers and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene for infants
Engaging in interactive play and educational activities to support cognitive and motor skill development
Reading books and singing songs to encourage language development
Supervising outdoor play and ensuring safety at all times
Introducing age-appropriate arts and crafts activities for creative expression
Providing gentle guidance and positive reinforcement for behavior management
Monitoring developmental milestones and communicating progress to parents
Administering medication or following specific care instructions as needed under parental guidance
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of professional nanny experience, with a focus on infants and toddlers
longevity in past positions (4 years, 6 years, 8 years, 3 years for previous families)
Passionate about safety and well-versed in child safety practices
willing to travel and work evenings and weekends
experience with multiple young children
Would LOVE someone who knows the area.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with both parents and children
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to travel is preferred
Ability to maintain a balance between being playful and chill, with good energy and a fun demeanor
Comfortable with a tag-team parenting approach
Career-oriented mindset with a commitment to long-term employment
Experience with newborns and infant
Proficiency in cooking nutritious meals for children
CPR and First Aid certification for infants and children
Compensation:
$35 to $40 per hour, paid via W-2
Two weeks of paid vacation
